A LEGAL POLITICAL COMPENDIUM ON MINORITY PROTECTION LEADING FROM A TO Z
A small group of journalists met in the Palais in 2008 to discuss language diversity in Europe. It was noted with regret that there was no easily accessible, compact work on the legal and political background of the minority question in Europe. The idea of writing an "A-Z of the Protection of Minorities in Europe" was born. Two years later the book was officially presented to the Austrian Parliament under the aegis of Rita Süssmuth, former President of the German Bundestag. The photo gallery provides impressions of the presentation. The attendees included Martha Stocker, Vice-President of the Regional Council of Trentino - South Tyrol, who subsequently arranged for the book to be translated into English, and South Tyrol’s Governor Luis Durnwalder, who presented and discussed the book in Brussels.
Order form for those who are interested in the German version of the book entitled "ABC des Minderheitenschutzes in Europa".
The Region Trentino South Tyrol kindly financed the translation of the book into English. The English version was published in 2012: The protection of minorities in Europe. A legal-political compendium leading from A to Z.
A short review of the book is available in Kurier as of 8 January 2011.
